Meet Abby Begeman- Geauga County Family & Community Liaison
Abby Begeman is the Family and Community Liaison for Geauga County. She earned her Bachelor's Degree of Arts in Advertising from Michigan State University. After college, Abby started working in the nonprofit sector and quickly realized her passion for mentoring youth and helping families in the community.
Abby has previously worked for the Lake County Y as the Sport and Outreach Director and Director of Program Development, for Torchlight Youth Mentoring Alliance (formerly Big Brothers Big Sisters) as a School Based Site Coordinator, is a former board member of Lifeline Inc, and is currently a volunteer assistant Den Leader for her daughter’s cub scout pack. With over a decade of experience in Northeast Ohio, Abby is dedicated to advocating and creating safe spaces for today’s youth and supporting and encouraging families. Abby enjoys exploring local parks with her husband, Seth, and their children, Norah and Penelope. They also enjoy reading the Harry Potter series together as a family.

Meet Kristin Llewellyn-Lake County Family & Community Liaison
Kristin Llewellyn is native to northeast Ohio, where she has served in the field of community social work and advocacy with her previous professional experience with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Ohio and Lake County Prosecutor’s Office in victim services. Ms. Llewellyn cultivated her interest in working with students because of her own personal academic struggles to become educated. Llewellyn went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Human Services from Lakeland Community College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work form Youngstown State University.
Ms. Llewellyn underwent additional professional development opportunities with the Ohio Department of Education and The Ohio Statewide Family Engagement Center at The Ohio State University in order to be effective in her role as a school liaison. Areas of emphasis that Llewellyn has additional expertise in are school based/community programming, family engagement, and community outreach.
Llewellyn’s approach to working with students and families is compassionate, practical and is judgement free. She utilizes a strength-based approach that addresses the needs of the whole child, and that assists students and families so that they feel empowered!
